It is reported that Senator Roy Blunt has signed a letter with Senator Claire McCaskill calling for the Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to provide answers about allegations regarding delays in mental-health care at Cochran. Blunt says, “This ought to solved, and it ought to be solved right now.’’ “It’s an outrage that our veterans aren’t being treated better than they are being treated.”
The outrage is that we depend on the government to take care of our veterans. Wouldn’t it be better for us to take care of our veterans as a free people without governmental constraints? With governmental failure evident at every turn, why do we continue to think of government as the solution to our problems? We should heed the words of Ronald Reagan. He said then, “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” You can see a report on his speech here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XObcP69dhCg. His words are no less true now.
The best solution is to free the veterans from the VA. Eliminate the VA and allow veterans to join the rest of the country in a true and liberated health care system, one that is not bound to governmental rules and red tape and one that has true compassion for people. The VA has failed; Obamacare has failed. Free the veterans and then free us all.
